MATI AKHORA : IMPACT ON BODY AND MIND is a session which focuses solely on Mati-Akhora often termed as the ground exercise which is the basic foundation of Sattriya Dance. In this session, various Mati-Akhoras starting from Dandavat,Ora,Sota,Jaap,Lon,etc are being taught and how these affects our physical and mental health. This session is organized so as to make people aware of the benefits of Mati Akhora on our health be it for the dancers or non-dancers. It consists of a number of interesting sub-sessions where there are interactions between the trainer as well as the participants. This session is of utmost beneficial because it helps us in knowing the internal facts of Mati-Akhoras(health wise) and increases the curiosity and interest among the learners, that in turn increases the dedication for the traditional art-form "Sattriya". It will be a one hour virtual "ZOOM" live session.
Anannya Mahanta is professional Sattriya Dance practitioner from Assam. A double diploma holder of the field, Anannya is a Junior as well as Senior Scholarship holder under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. She is also a Graded Artist under Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati. With a humble attempt to promote Art, she is currently serving as a founding member of her own organization "Nrityangahara" as its President that works for the propagation of various performing arts, primarily Sattriya Dance.
