Tokusatsu is Japanese term for a genre of film, literally means special effect movie. It is a film about disaster, usually with monsters, super hero with mask and miniature of scenes like cities or infrastructure. Special effects in the old days are mostly practical effects with out computer and software. We use the same technique to build monster suit and mask of the hero, and using most common material from supermarket or stationery shop. The city scene and infrastructure miniature models are built from recycled material. The goal is to let trainees learn a whole process of props and set design, building and execution in shooting. An unique experience from nothing to build up a whole set in a very limited budget.
