Many of us wish to switch to a plant-based diet but do not know where to start. Even if they are on board with the idea, making this major lifestyle change is a very intimidating thought. Many questions keep lingering the mind every now and then like : Is a vegan diet really healthy? Is it even practically possible to be on this diet forever? Doesn't it conflict with our traditional ancient wisdom? Is it a high maintenance diet heavy on pocket? Are vegan recipes complicated? Can regular working professionals follow it while managing home and kids? Does it mean we have to deprive ourselves and forget festivities and celebrations? Can we follow it while traveling and visiting friends? Hear and learn it all from a working young mother who started her plant-based journey about 3 years ago. We will cover basic essentials and tips to run a vegan kitchen. Recipes will be beginner level. All recipes will be vegan and free from refined sugar, refined oil, and refined flour.
I grew up in Ranchi with fewer toys and more experiences on our house farm. Enjoyed visiting local market and ancestral village and learned to appreciate resources and be grateful to what is on our plate as per season, region, and availability. After finishing schooling in Ranchi, I went on to study Architecture from IIT Kharagpur and later completed PGDM from IIM Kozhikode. Himani's innovative and passionate cooking experience has got be interested to try the new recipes that she covered in her class. I love the cashew based cheese and cookies and the kheer she taught. Himani has a good knowledge of her subject. A good presenter and very comprehensible. The way she covered all possible scenarios for each recipe, it was evident that she spoke from her own experience, experiments and learning. Her judicious choice of recipes, what to demonstrate and what to pre prepare met the objective of the workshop. Very helpful for anyone who is considering switching to vegan and those who are new to this. Suggestion – Camera handling could be better and focus largely on what is being prepared.

Amazing workshop, fully loaded with recipes! First time learnt how to make even basic ingredients at home from scratch. When you don't know how to start your plant based diet journey, look nowhere but reach out to Himani Kumar. Had an amazing experience in a workshop with her today, where she treated us as beginners and gave a lot of hacks and tips, not generally shared in recipes online. Kudos to her passion, dishes had to come out so delicious and healthy!
