About this experience

Welcome to the Pitaara Immersive. Urban farming is designed for children to build hands on skills of farming and understanding the natural cycle of growth. Detailed Schedule

Week 1 - Introduction to Urban Farming

  • Learn what is an urban farmer
  • how to make a potting mix
  • how, when and what of planting 

Week 2 - Composting

  • learn how to convert kitchen waste and garden waste into nutrient rich compost for your urban farm

Week 3 - 5:  Kitchen Garden Design

  • Introduction to designing a kitchen garden 
  • how to observe nature and design a small garden on any rooftop, balcony or backyard
  • how to check the right direction sun, quality of soil etc 

Week 6 - Microgreens

  • grow delicious , nutrient-rich baby plants with minimal sunlight, water and space

Week 7 - Pest Management 

  • learn how to make your plants strong
  • companion planting
  • heal your plants in case they are attacked by pests or disease

Week 8 - Harvest and Community Challenge 

  • harvest your learning 
  • harvest your microgreens 
  • begin with a 1 month challenge to apply your newly gained knowledge of urban farming

Week 9 - Personal/Group Challenge

  • Co-create projects and challenges to apply the learning of these 8 weeks to a real life project. It can range from making a rooftop farm to teaching your neighbours how to farm

  • This is an online experience
  • The course will go on for9 weeks
  • One session each week
  • Please try to join the experience on or before the given time
  • Please carry a proof of identification with you

  • You can cancel upto 3 days before the experience is scheduled to start

We are a small and close knit community of facilitators from different walks of life hosting unique experiential learning workshops. Our first unconference had over 300 participants over a two-day gathering. Children infused virtual screens with their energies, and we could experience the joy of learning together and the value it added to their lives. We work on bringing immersive critical thinking and democratic learning for children from different walks of life.
