BASIC SPSS COURSE:

  • Day 1 introduction to SPSS,data coding,data management
  • Day 2. Hypothesis testing introduction, normality testing
  • Day 3 parametric tests
  • Day 4 non parametric tests
  • Day5 correlation and regression

  • Highlights of the Course
  • • Types of data with biological examples.
  • • Interpret differences in data distributions. 
  • • Interpret and explain a p-value
  • • Perform a one-sample t-test, binomial test, chi square for goodness of fit. and interpret the results; calculate a 95% confidence interval for the difference in population means
  • • Understand and interpret results from Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), a technique used to compare means amongst more than two independent populations (Mann-Whitney, Wilcoxon, Krushal-Wallis etc.)
  • • Correlation (Pearson/ Spearman/ Kendall’s Tau ‘b’)
  • • Regression (Linear/Multiple/ Sequential) Concepts and Interpretation. 
  • • Use SPSS to perform simple operations with data: define variables, recode variables, create dummy variables, select and weight cases, split files.

ADVANCED SPSS COURSE:

  • Exploratory Factor Analysis (Principal Component Analysis, Maximum Likelihood)
  • Confirmatory Factor Analysis (Using AMOS Software) 
  • Reliability Analysis (Alpha, Split Half, Guttman)

    The basic concepts of Biostatistics along with data and output interpretation of SPSS was very well explained. Resource persons were knowledgeable, patient and gave time to participants to interact and clear doubt freely. Really glad to be the part of this workshop.
