About this experience

This 5-day experience targets to instill the technical knowledge required to download, handle and analyze data from variety of earth observation sources. Detailed Schedule

  • Overview on Remote Sensing and GIS
  • Available data sources, data formats and data download
  • Map concepts and map projections – coordinate system and projection systems
  • Handling vector and raster data in GIS platform
  • Basic vector functions, spatial query, attribute table operations
  • Basic raster analysis, raster mosaicking and clipping, working with terrain data
  • Creating a thematic map from satellite image: image digitization and error handling
  • Data manipulation techniques, geoprocessing, and spatial data analysis
  • Multi-Criteria Decision Making in GIS
